Tailor made tour: explore the castles of CROATIA ZAGORJE

In the extreme north of croatia, north of the capital Zagreb, there is a wonderful Zagorje landscape - with gentle hills and small villages, but also many castles and palaces ftom the middle ages.


Castles and fortifications of the Hrvatsko zagorje
 1. day:   ZAGREB
Arrival by bus to the hotel in Zagreb. Afternoon walk around the center of the capital accompanied by a guide (Ilica, Cathedral, Stone Gate, Upper Town...)
 2. day:   TRAKOŠĆAN & VELIKI TABOR
Drive to Hrvatsko Zagorje and its green hills, which conquer with their vineyards, cellars, churches, summer houses and romantic castles. We will first visit Trakošćan - one of the most attractive and most visited castle in Croatia, from the 13th century. After lunch we drive to Veliki Tabor - one of the best preserved medieval fortifications in Croatia, from the 15th century. Return to Zagreb.
 3. day:   VARAŽDIN & ČAKOVEC
Today we visit 2 cities in Zagorje. In Varaždin, after a tour of the city, we will visit the City Museum in the area of the Old Town, the most important monumentals complex in Varaždin from the Gothic and Renaissance periods. Later in Čakovec we will visit the Renaissance Baroque palace - the Old Town of the Zrinski, a fortified noble castle in the center of the town from the 16th century. Return to Zagreb.
 
 4. day:   RETURN
 After breakfast return home.
